how to ensure that your child is active

Below we offer some advice on how to ensure that your child is active and not sedentary. First of all you should know that, although it is practical to have your child in his carriage, you are immobilizing him. Whenever possible and you have time, let him out, as long as he is closely watched. When you go outdoor with your child give him the chance to run around and jump more than he does at home. It's good to develop a love of parks and outdoor play areas away from home. If you tire of the areas close to home, try going to the lake or to some new garden that you haven't yet visited. You can play ball with your son, or play tag to get him to exercise. On those rainy days, days when he doesn't feel well or doesn't want to go out you can dance a bit with him and get him moving by playing his favorite song, or one you like. If its fun he'll get up and dance. Always remember that you set the example he will follow, if you are a health sporty person he will want to share those moments with you. Invite him to join you doing your exercises and make sure your family outings are as active and as non-sedentary as possible. One good way to get your child to be more active is to invite a friend to the local pool or to the park so they can play and have a good time together. If he wants to join a sports team it is a good idea to agree because he will be more active. Always remember that your child is still young and shouldn't overdo it; if he goes to daycare or to school every day you might think that one more class would be too much and turn down the sports activity. But remember, the final purpose is that he be healthy and active and not that he be an athlete.
